THE FALLS was devised for ART IN TRANSIT – a scheme designed to place art in Bangalore’s Metro system. The work was completed by 20 students from Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology over a period of three weeks, and was installed at Vijayanagar Metro Station.

The installation consisted of 5 parts; a large format book, screen printed and cyanotype banners, a video projection, vinyl prints on the staircase risers and a laser installation. The inspiration for the project comes from the city of Bangalore where the project was made and displayed

The Fall”, which describes the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, has been a popular theme in European art since the Renaissance. This project sets out to describe various strands of contemporary estrangement, conflating the deterioration of the environment with our apparent readiness to embrace life in “Uncanny Valley”.
